Why see a therapist?
Going to a therapist can be a worthwhile growing and stabilizing experience. It can help when you have specific problems, relationship issues, or are feeling emotionally unwell. You can go to a therapist once, for a few months or embark on long-term therapy. All of the options are dependent on the individual and their goals.
Will therapy work for me?
The success of your therapy will largely depend on your commitment to your own process, as well as your readiness for change. Therapy involves being honest with yourself about patterns and behaviors, which can be an uncomfortable process. The relationship with your therapist is also an important factor in how effective it will be for you. It is important that you feel a positive connection with your clinician and that he/she is competent, safe, and cares about your therapeutic experience.
